American Exceptionalism and the Roots of the Approaching American Revolution
I have updated and revised this post inspired by the “pro-choice” people who, in NY and VA, now extend their choice to the murder of living babies as they exit the womb. Back in the 60s, Francis Schaeffer forewarned Americans that the slippery slope of abortion on demand would lead to both infanticide and geronticide. Pro-choice advocates laughed at him and dismissed him.
Unfortunately, Linus can’t have a real conversation with Lucy. It’s practically impossible. There is no firm, reasonable starting place because Lucy will not admit the inconsistencies in her thinking. Her worldview, based on emotion, cannot allow for reasonable honesty. So rather than laugh at her inconsistency and be willing to reevaluate and alter her view, Lucy has to bully, name-call, and shame her friend. Bullies want control. They intend to deprive others of their liberty and crush their rights.
BOTH extremes–Right and Left in our country–operate this way.
This is not about Democrat vs. Republican–although Bullies exist in both parties. This is about liberty versus slavery and it has been going on for thousands of years. This is about Unity versus disunity. Polarization begins with those who depart from the foundations of what made us great and United. Only one thing kept the United States from going the way of every other nation-state or Empire in history.
American Exceptionalism Rooted in Christ
Backdrop is WWII. The totalitarian socialists knows as the National Sozialistiche Deutsche Arbeitpartei (National Socialist German Party–NAZI party for short), had invaded Europe. Their storm troopers crushed and were rounding up and killing their enemies, which included political enemies, Jews, and the Christians who helped rescue both. Dr. E. Stanley Jones, noted missionary and theologian-statesman serving in India at the time said this regarding our UNITED STATES and American freedom:
What a Christ this is! taking the energies and pioneering spirit of a people gathered from all climes and all races, and in spite of all their sins and prejudices welding them into a living whole until they become perhaps the most united nation on earth, and perhaps the greatest.
Christ has done this? Yes, for without his Spirit working in the hearts of this American Civilization–cleansing, inspiring, uniting,–this civilization would not have been possible. He is the cement that holds it together. Through its centrifugal forces and its dividing sins it would fall to pieces tomorrow without him. He is the most cleansing, constructive, potent force working within the soul of this people–and its one hope.**
Given the contemporary hatred of Christ and his family in our American civilization today. Given the polarization of those who love liberty and those who want power to force their Christless worldview upon the people. What is the future of our union?
My hope is that God will heal our nation on behalf of our forefathers and their sacrifice–that Lucy & Linus will get tired of the polarization that separates them and find ways to listen to one another. My fear is that it’s too late. Lucy likes bullying and controlling Linus. And Linus won’t give up his freedom to her control. Thus, unless the nation repents, we, our children and our grand-children will experience a revolution unlike any in previous history as political parties polarize, our unity unravels, and our economy implodes. The revolution will center around religion, because Christ and Yahweh are the ONLY source of Freedom and unity.
The only way out is a return to what made us great–honoring Christ and loving God and people made in His image. Can it be that simple? Oh, yes!
I pray that I’m wrong about the Revolution, because I’m absolutely right about the root and the deterrent.

Newt Gingrich is the Winston Churchill of the second decade of the 21st Century. If Newt does not win the 2012 nomination and if Obama is voted another four years, we will experience what England would have experienced had Winston not been head of the nation under the threat of the Third Reich.
Our threat? Islamization and a nuclear Iran.
Honestly, does anyone truly believe that Obama is a strong enough President and historian to face down and defeat the threats facing our nation? Would Ron Paul? He’s the MOST clueless with regard to foreign policy. He’s actually bizarre and frightening. He’d legalize drugs, withdraw from humanitarian efforts overseas, and so drastically cut our military that he would invite attack. One wonders how he gets a following.??
We may fall because of what liberal education has done to reconstruct history, but I’m hoping that enough Americans still understand real history and will recognize our danger and the solutions for our times.

The Fate of our Nation: An Open email
Hi to my family, friends, and readers:
Me & Newt
As a pastor, I’ve always been careful about combining politics with my calling to ministry. I continue that care to this day by not speaking about my personal preferences for political office when I proclaim or teach the Word in that official role. I simply ask people to vote God’s values and to vote for the best person who champions His values.
However, right now I am not writing to you as a “pastor” or “elder” but as a friend or brother and as a citizen and voter.
As a teacher of history, I believe that the coming Presidential election is the most important since 1860. I do not exaggerate when I say that it is probably the most important vote of my lifetime and yours–perhaps in our nation’s history.
- Our nation is divided
- We are broke (financially) and deeply in debt to hostile nations.
- The national security of the United States has never been more compromised.
- We have no strategic foreign policy.
- We are under attack from the outside and inside
- Our southern border is overrun. And radical Islam is staging in Venezuela and Margarita Island.
- Nuclear weapons are in the hands of three renegade powers who will not hesitate to use them. This President is all hat and no cowboy.
- We are poised to abandon our close ally, Israel.
The current President has run fast and loose in the greatest office in the world–that of President of the United States. He is in way over his head. He may know about community-action in Chicago and what the liberal elites at Columbia believe about how wonderful the U.S. would be as a socialist nation, but a socialist nation was never God’s intent for our great Union of states.
We are a light on a hill. We are a beacon of freedom and liberty, where each person can aspire to be what God has placed in his/her heart or mind to be and do. That requires freedom. No one is free as long as he or she is in debt. No one is free as long as he or she is required to have health insurance of the government’s choosing. No one is free as long as political correctness trumps reason and common sense. No one is free when our national security is continually undermined by the Commander-in-Chief who is sworn to protect and defend from all enemies foreign AND domestic. Who will protect us from HIM? And no one is free when their nation’s courts legislate values opposed to God’s values.
Since 9/11 the ancient Ottoman Empire has reared its head and come back to life. Islam sees the opportunity under this President to spread across the world. He has done NOTHING to stop it. As a matter of fact, he has helped by granting access to secret FBI research facilities in the form of a tour to demonstrate our techniques and facilities. He invites known Islamic collaborators to access the white house. He has been credited with several military victories but these were not his doing, he simply took credit for them. And he continually undermines Israel’s friendship and sovereignty.
Islam is a greater threat than ever, yet it’s all talk when it comes to Obama’s dealings with Iran and Syria. Now he has again capitulated to an enemy by agreeing to abandon an airbase in Pakistan. Pakistan is evicting the U.S. from the drone base responsible for gathering intelligence on our enemies. We know that he will not hesitate to abandon Israel to her enemies should Israel choose a preemptive, unilateral strike.
I’m not only voting for Newt Gingrich, but I’m assisting in his campaign and have given a small contribution. I urge you to follow my example. Why?
Barack Hussein Obama is a politician. Newt Gingrich is a Statesman. What’s the difference?
James Freeman Clarke said, “A politician thinks about the next election; a Statesman thinks about the next generation.“
If we do not elect a leader of the caliber of Newt Gingrich, Obama will win again. If he wins, no one will have to worry about the next generation. There won’t be one! Our nation is at a crossroad. Most people sense it. They can feel something huge pending, waiting to happen.
If you review his videos on “My Best of Newt” post and recall his contributions as former Speaker of the House back in the 90’s, you’ll see why Newt is absolutely the man for this season of our great history. Other candidates are sincere and would likely do well with help. However, like Churchill in the 1930’s and 40’s, Newt sees the issues with crystal clarity and knows how to navigate in Washington to get the job done.
Since any President can only keep his word to the nation if he has the Congress and Senate WITH him, this is the one election where we really need the candidate to be a Washington insider who can work with the House and Senate on both sides of the aisle to get the job done. And Newt’s already shown us that he can keep a “Contract with America.”
